Registration for Penn Manor Rec Basketball will be held on Monday, October 5th in the High School cafeteria, Tuesday, October 6th at Manor Middle and Wednesday, October 7th at Marticville Middle. From 6-8 PM. Information forms can be picked up in the Main Office.
Message from 1:1 Help Desk: Students, we have recently had many different issues on your laptops caused by interrupting updates. We encourage you to update your laptops frequently, but make sure that you let these updates finish and do not interrupt them by shutting down your computer to avoid issues.
Need a dress for homecoming? The annual clothing drive will be held on Saturday, October 3 at Hambright Elementary, and there will be plenty of dresses there for you to choose from. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Meckley down in room 242 for more details.
Attention all girls interested in trying out for the varsity and jv girls basketball teams: Open gyms are currently running in preparation for the upcoming season. See Coach Kelly in room 384 for a schedule.

The homecoming dance will be held at the high school on Saturday October 10 from 7:00 – 10:00. Tickets will be $8 per person or $15 per couple, and will be sold at the door. This dance is semi formal, this means no jeans. If you are bringing a guest that is not a Penn Manor student please pick up a form in the office.
Attention all students grades 9 to 12. Are you excited for the falling temperatures? Are you waiting with pins and needles for the first snow fall? Are your skis or snowboard all waxed and ready to go? Then you need to come on this year’s annual ski trip to Vermont. This year we will be carving it up at Killington and Okemo. Don’t delay!! Pick up a form from either Miss Beaver outside room 381 or from Office Hottenstein in the office.
All free and reduced lunch applications must be returned to the cafeteria by October 5. Students need to apply for free and reduced lunch on a yearly basis. CTC students need to apply at Penn Manor and CTC. This form can be found in the main office or in the cafeteria.
Seniors, time is running out for your parents to submit your senior ad for the yearbook! Don’t let them miss this important deadline! Remind them today!
Attention FFA members: The next FFA meeting will be held on Monday, October 5th in room 342 at 7 PM. Fruit Sale order forms should be available at this meeting along with Farm Show trip information. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Snacks and refreshments will be available.
FFA Family Day will be held on October 11th at Washington Boro Park. FFA members and their families are invited to enjoy some games, food, and to learn more about the Penn Manor Ag Program. Barbecue Chicken and drinks will be provided, and families are asked to bring a side or dessert. In order to provide an accurate count, each person attending will be required to get free tickets. These tickets are available in room 340. Tickets will be available until October 2nd.
Attention students who are taking the SAT here at Penn Manor this coming Saturday: the sign-in will be in the Central Complex from 7:15 – 8:00 a.m. The earlier you arrive, the earlier you will be assigned to a test room and the earlier you will finish testing. Bring your Admission Ticket, two number two pencils, a good calculator and the required photo identification. Do not bring a mechanical pencil or a pen. No food is allowed in the testing rooms. Please make sure you know how to turn off your cell phone because if it rings or if you are seen using it at any time, including breaks, you will be dismissed and your scores will be canceled. Read the Registration Bulletin regarding what to bring and what not to bring.
Attention seniors: It is time for you to present your senior project. You have three options for doing this. You may present to your counselor, you may present to one of the graduate interns who are working in the counseling office, or you may present during the morning of October 14 while under classman take the PSAT test. In order to select the manner in which you would like to present, you must visit the high school website and click on the link to complete the Googleform. There is a limit to the number of student who can present to their counselor and the graduate interns, so please sign up quickly. All seniors who need to present need to make their selection by Tuesday, October 6. If you have any questions, please see an administrator at lunch.
Homecoming week is upon us, which also means Spirit Week. This year a prize will be awarded to the first block with the most participation throughout the week. Prizes may be awarded during each lunch as well.
The days are as follows:
Monday: American day- Wear Red, White, Blue
Tuesday: College/Jersey day- wear your favorite college t-shirt or jersey
Wednesday: Squad day (dress the same with a group of friends)
Thursday: Color wars (Seniors wear black, Juniors wear gray, Sophomores wear blue,
Freshman wear purple).
Friday: Pink out. Wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
Attention Seniors interested in the Visual Arts and Design fields. National Portfolio Day is an opportunity for those who wish to pursue an education in the visual and related arts to meet with representatives from colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Representatives will be available to review your artwork, discuss their programs and answer questions about professional careers in art. Representatives from over 100 schools will be on hand in Philadelphia on November 8th. For more information visit www.portfolioday.net
Attention students: anyone who is interested in the Armed Services then you should attend Congress Man Joe R Pitts academy night at the HACC Lancaster campus on Monday October 5th from 7 to 9 pm. If you are interested you can pick up a flyer in the counseling office.
If anyone is interested in show casing or selling their art work at a local cafe. The Grand Central Bagel Cafe is currently looking for artists. If you are interested please see Hannah Brunner or go to Grand Central Bagel Cafe and talk to either Deb or Gienie. Art work includes jewelry, drawings and paintings!!! Your art work will be displayed for an entire month.
Any theatre student who plans to attend the trip to the State Thespian Conference – the deadline has been extended until Monday! You must turn in your registration form so that we know your t-shirt size and the activities you’d like to do – as well as the medical form, and the PM field trip form signed by all 4 of your teachers. If you have questions or concerns about making the registration deposit – please stop by room 209 to speak to Mrs. Mintzer in person. Mrs. Mintzer must have an accurate count of every person going on the trip by the end of rehearsal on Monday.

Attention Students: October is bullying prevention month. Students in the FCS department have written PSA’s to educate and prevent bullying at Penn Manor, listen up this month!! Bullying is a behavior that hurts, humiliates or harms another person in a physical or emotional way. Over 1/3 of students are bullies in a school. Now bullying has led to more serious affects, such as deaths. STOP bullying, it is affecting people everywhere!!
