The homecoming dance will be held at the high school on Saturday October 10 from 7:00 – 10:00. Tickets will be $8 per person or $15 per couple, and will be sold at the door. This dance is semi formal, this means no jeans. If you are bringing a guest that is not a Penn Manor student please pick up a form in the office.
Homecoming week is upon us, which also means Spirit Week. This year a prize will be awarded to the first block with the most participation throughout the week. Prizes may be awarded during each lunch as well.
The days are as follows:
Friday: Pink out. Wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
Juniors and Seniors, Harrisburg Area Community College is hosting an Open House on October 17th from 10:00 to 2:00. You will get a chance to explore all of the learning opportunities available and tour the campus. If you are interested pick up a flyer in the counseling office.
Interested in attending one of the largest state universities in Pennsylvania? Seniors, Indiana University of Pennsylvania will be here on Tuesday, October 20th for an Instant Admissions Event. Apply online to IUP by next Wednesday and sign-up with the counseling office online.
Attention all students! The parking deck must be clear by 3pm this Friday (10/9). Please remove your vehicles as soon as school is over!
Attention Juniors don’t miss your opportunity to visit the Lancaster County CTC. Stop by the counseling office to pick up a field trip form ASAP. Field trip forms are due back the counseling office by 10/16. Questions see your school counselor.
Are you a sophomore interested in learning more about opportunities available to you at the Lancaster Career and Technology Center? If so don’t miss your chance to attend an information session about the LCCTC on 10/20 during homeroom. Visit the high school blog to sign up or use the link on the counseling blog under the events tab to register. You must sign up to attend this presentation. Have questions or need help see your school counselor.
Seniors, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a free career exploration test that helps students learn more about themselves and the careers they might find rewarding. In addition to the military, some vocational and technical schools use the results of the ASVAB in their admissions process. Seniors can take the ASVAB here in the high school on Super Wednesday morning, October 14, if they sign up in the counseling office. See Mr. Yearsley to sign up and/or if you have any questions.
Interested in STEM focused careers? Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is hosting an Open house on October 12th. Take the time to explore their campus and learn about all the merit based scholarships they have to offer. If you are interested you can pick up more information in the counseling office.
The Penn Manor Girls’ Volleyball Team invites you to join us on Thursday, October 8th at 6PM for our annual Pink Match. Supporters are encouraged to wear pink to the match. We will be selling gourmet, pink cup cakes to raise money for the Hershey Children’s Miracle Network. Please come out to support a great cause.
New Scholastic book orders have arrived! Please stop by the library or select classrooms to get a copy of the October catalogs.
Attention NHS Members: Volunteers are needed to help with childcare at Hambright Elementary’s literacy night Thursday, October 15. Check the blog for details if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.

Attention Penn Manor student body and faculty! The Penn Manor Boys Cross Country team is undefeated and going for a perfect season next Tuesday at home at Manor Middle School. Lead by Senior Joel Burkholder and Juniors Doug Kramer and Malachi Lyon the team is 17-0 and will battle Hempfield ( also 17-0) for the top spot in the LL league. Show up at 4:45 to cheer on the girls and then stay for the championship race at 5:15.
Wear your blue and gold and go crazy cheering the boys onto victory!!
