Juniors and Seniors, Harrisburg Area Community College is hosting an Open House on October 17th from 10:00 to 2:00. You will get a chance to explore all of the learning opportunities available and tour the campus. If you are interested pick up a flyer in the counseling office.

Seniors, Indiana University of Pennsylvania will be here next week for an Instant Admissions Event. Apply to IUP, request your transcripts, and SAT scores by this Wednesday. Don’t forget to sign-up with the counseling office online. Find more information in the counseling office and counseling blog.

On Thursday, October 15th there will be a seminar during homeroom where you will learn how to navigate a college fair. Learn about the timeline for visiting campuses and applying to schools. Learn about things to consider when narrowing down your schools to talk with at Penn Manor’s November 2nd Education Day. Attention NHS Members: Volunteers are needed to help with childcare at Hambright Elementary’s literacy night Thursday, October 15. Check the blog for details if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.

Attention tenth grade students: The Gertrude Hawk candy sale is underway! The sale ends on Friday, November 6, so please have all forms in to Ms. Mercadante (room 321) or Mrs. Mayo (room 322) by that date. Delivery will take place around December 1, so orders will arrive well before the Christmas holidays. If at all possible, please write one check for your entire order made out to PM Class of 2018. Thank you so much! Remember that this money will help to lower the cost of prom tickets and allow us to consider having a senior class trip.

Students interested in Dual Enrollment college courses for spring semester or summer classes must attend a mandatory dual enrollment meeting Wednesday, October 21st during homeroom in the band room. You need to sign up for the meeting so you don’t get marked absent for homeroom on Wednesday. Sign up with the link on the counseling blog under ‘events’ or in the guidance office.

Attention Penn Manor: Have you even been bullied or have seen someone being bullied? This is happening everyday to people in school around the world and we need to STOP it now. If you’ve been made fun of repeatedly for what you do o what you believe in, talk to an adult now. You’ll be glad you did.

Come on Penn Manor! Today is the day to show your Comet pride and show up at Manor Middle School to cheer on the Undefeated Boys Cross Country team as they take on Hempfield, the number two ranked team in the state. The Girls team runs at 4:45 and the Boys at 5:15.  Make banners, bring vuvzelas or cow bells and get ready to cheer on Joel, Doug, Malachi, Zach, Aidan, Nick, David and the rest of the team.  GO COMETS!

Attention athletes. Join FCA tomorrow morning at 7am in room 236. Come join us and start the day off right!
Wrestlers: There will be a meeting in room 380 today at the beginning of Homeroom for anyone interested in wrestling this year. If you are unable to attend, please stop and talk to Coach Fowler in room 380 at some point this week.
