Chess Team practice will begin Next Monday in the Library after school at three o’clock. If you have the desire, and think you have the aptitude, to devastate your peers in a serious board game then you may be Chess Team material. To find out, come to Chess Team practice in the library after school on Monday, November second. See Mr. Yearsley in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Education Day is coming to Penn Manor High School on Monday November 2 during block 3 and lunches. This is your chance to visit with over 100 colleges, and other institutions of higher learning and training. You will have an opportunity to meet admission representatives from a broad range of educational institutions to discuss entrance requirements, financial aid, campus life and academic programs. A list of participants is on the high school and counseling office blog. Your parents are invited to attend this event also!

Attention Juniors who have completed field trip permission slips to attend the CTC Tours. All trips will depart from the central complex. If you are unsure which tour you have signed up to attend please check the rosters posted outside of the counseling office. Please report to the Central Complex with your belongings by 8:00. The Mount Joy CTC Field Trip is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 28. Please report to the Central Complex with your belongings by 8:00. The Willow Street CTC Field Trip is scheduled for Thursday Oct 29. Please report to the central complex by 11:50. All students attending the Willow Street CTC Field trip need to eat lunch A.

Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat (also known as TOTS-EAT) is a nationwide food drive sponsored by theatre students across the country. Penn Manor Theatre is hoping that you’ll be able to bring in a few non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves at The Loft in Millersville – our local food bank that helps the PM community. The block one class with the highest number of items (per student) will win donuts and juice! Food items must be sealed in their original packaging – and check to be sure that it is not past the expiration date. Donations will be tallied on Thursday, November 5th – You have 2 weeks, Penn Manor – let’s gather as much as we can!

If you are currently a junior in high school and interested in earning college scholarships, you could be the next Distinguished Young Woman for Lancaster County. Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. Former, current, and spring Honors British Literature students, including AP Literature and Honors Comp: Join Mrs. May and Mrs. Murphy on Wednesday, November 11th to see the hilarious musical Something Rotten in New York City. The cost is $76 for transportation and show tickets. Take advantage of a rare British Literature field trip opportunity. Please see Mrs. Murphy or Mrs. May this week for more information. Hurry! The bus is filling quickly.

Work Study Students, please see Mrs. Broderick in the main office to pick up your work study supervisor evaluation form. This form is due back completed no later than November 6th.

Attention underclassmen Quiz Bowl team players- we will meet in the library after school for our competition at Lancaster Catholic on Wednesday October 28th.
