Monday will be the start of Penn Manor Chess Team practice in the library after school. Remember, to join the Chess Team, it is not required for you to have the desire to humiliate other kids on a chessboard… but it helps. See Mr. Yearsley for more information.
Attention seniors: If you have not ordered your cap, gown, victory hood, and tassel, you need to do so as soon as possible. The unit must now be ordered online. Please refer to the information that you received at our class meeting for the website and ordering instructions. All orders must be made by November 1. Please see Dr. Gale if you have questions.
9th, 10th, and 11th graders: If you want to attend the Millersville University College Info Session on Tuesday next week, sign-up online today.
Education Day is coming to Penn Manor High School on Monday November 2 during block 3 and lunches. This is your chance to visit with over 100 colleges, and other institutions of higher learning and training. You will have an opportunity to meet admission representatives from a broad range of educational institutions to discuss entrance requirements, financial aid, campus life and academic programs. A list of participants is on the high school and counseling office blog. Your parents are invited to attend this event also!
If you are currently a junior in high school and interested in earning college scholarships, you could be the next Distinguished Young Woman for Lancaster County. Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. Distinguished Young Women strives to give every young woman the opportunity to further her education and prepare for a successful future. Former, current, and spring Honors British Literature students, including AP Literature and Honors Comp: Join Mrs. May and Mrs. Murphy on Wednesday, November 11th to see the hilarious musical Something Rotten in New York City. The cost is $76 for transportation and show tickets. Take advantage of a rare British Literature field trip opportunity. Please see Mrs. Murphy or Mrs. May this week for more information. Hurry! Work Study Students, please see Mrs. Broderick in the main office to pick up your work study supervisor evaluation form. This form is due back completed no later than November 6th.
FFA Fruit Orders are due November 3rd. Please submit them to an Ag Teacher on that date – no exceptions. Fruit will be delivered on November 18th, please make arrangements now.
Attention Seniors: Applications for Prom Committee are located in the main office. If you are interested and have participated in at least one fundraiser for your class, pick one up and return it by Friday, November 6. Thanks!
Attention class of 2017 it’s time to kick off the year with some doughnuts!! As a class we’re doing a Krispy Kreme fundraiser and we need your participation. If you did not receive a order form in homeroom you can pick one up in the counseling office. Any questions see Brooke DeBerdine, Sarah Ament, Alyssa Ames, Lynsey Wissler or Justin Robinson. Thanks and sell sell sell!! Completed tally order forms are due back to the counseling office by November 12th with payment. Checks should be made payable to the PMHS-Class of 2017.
Attention all students going on the Vermont ski trip. If you haven’t turned in your first payment you need to do so as soon as possible. If anyone is still interested there are spaces available. Please see Miss Beaver in room 381 to pick up a form or if you have any questions.
Attention Mock Trial Team: We will have our first practice this Sunday evening, Nov. 1, at 6pm. Please enter the school through the English Wing doors. Check email this weekend for further information.
FFA Members: There is a FFA Meeting Monday evening at 7 pm. You may bring your fruit orders that evening. You only have three meetings left before the PA Farm Show – please make sure you are meeting the requirements if you expect to go. Details on requirements can be found in any Ag Classroom.
Students who are taking French in the spring, please see Mrs. Klingman in room 210 for Quebec trip information. Penn Manor is planning a foreign language trip to Quebec City and Montreal in April.
