Penn Manor High School
Tuesday, April 19, 2016, Day 3

Last week, 25 members of the Penn Manor Technology Student Association (TSA) competed at the State Conference. Congratulations to the team of Josh Adams, Kevin Ward, and Aidan McFall who were finalists in System Control Technology; Josh Hiltz, Matt Tulli, and Colin Cunningham who were finalists in Debating Technology Issues; and the team of Zach Schucker and Ray Gerner who won the FIRST place State Championship in problem solving, the most popular event at the conference and now have the opportunity to attend nationals this summer! Way to go TSA!

Conestoga Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help with its end of year picnic. This is a great way to get hours for your community service requirement. Volunteers can sign up for 1 hour or 2 hour slots. The picnic is Friday, May 20th from 6-8PM at the Conestoga Elementary School. If you are interested in volunteering, or if you would like more information, contact Erin at erinmsmith214@gmail.com.

Athlete’s of the Week are: For girls lacrosse – Emma DeBerdine. Emma has a presence on the field especially as a freshman varsity starter. She plays with heart and is extremely aggressive and competitive. She works hard at practice and on game days. Emma shows speed in the midfield and creates turnovers and picks up the ball in critical situations. She has been a difference maker for the Comets so far this season. Nice job Emma! For Baseball – Jeff Taylor. Jeff pitched a complete game 1 hitter against McCaskey in a 2-0 win, Recorded 9 strikeouts and no walks. For Boys Volleyball – Sam Greenslade – The Penn Manor boys’ volleyball team has rolled to a 7-1 start, led by the right arm of Sam Greenslade. Sam just picked up his 1,000th career kill–the first person to do so in at least 15 years. His offense has been dominant around the Section. But Sam also brings leadership to this young team as one of just two seniors. He is pushing his teammates to excellence. For Softball – Brittany Hook – Brittany is the first Penn Manor pitcher ever to throw back to back no hitters to open the season. No hitters against Warwick and Manheim Township. Great job Brittany.

Attention Spring Fling Crew Just a reminder to Spring Fling crew members, sub money is due back today. Please return it to the box in the main office.
