Students interested in volunteering this summer, the Lancaster Science Factory is in search of summer camp volunteers. Students will be working with children and assisting them with their daily activities. Volunteers can choose to work for the whole summer or commit for only a week. Last week, 25 members of the Penn Manor Technology Student Association (TSA) competed at the State Conference. Congratulations to the team of Josh Adams, Kevin Ward, and Aidan McFall who were finalists in System Control Technology; Josh Hiltz, Matt Tulli, and Colin Cunningham who were finalists in Debating Technology Issues; and the team of Zach Schucker and Ray Gerner who won the FIRST place State Championship in problem solving, the most popular event at the conference and now have the opportunity to attend nationals this summer! Way to go TSA!
Conestoga Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help with its end of year picnic. This is a great way to get hours for your community service requirement. Volunteers can sign up for 1 hour or 2 hour slots. The picnic is Friday, May 20th from 6-8PM at the Conestoga Elementary School. Seniors Your class trip to six flags is coming up June 3rd and tickets are on sale this week! You must have exact change and Checks can be made payable to “PMHS Class of 2016”. Ticket prices are $45. You can purchase tickets any day this week in the central complex before school from 7:15-7:35, during all lunches, and after school from 2:45-3:30. WARNING! If you do not purchase your tickets this week, you will not be able to attend the class trip. Thanks!
Seniors: Post Prom tickets will be on sale Tuesday-Friday, from April 19th to April 29th. Tickets are $10/each and will be sold during lunch. You don’t need to attend the prom to come to post prom. CTC students may purchase tickets before and after school in the office on these same dates. All seniors and guest must have a permission slip signed in order to buy a post prom ticket. It’s going to be a great night!
The Young Humanitarian League is hosting a children’s book drive next week–April 18th through the 22nd. The books collected will be given to the Penn Manor Family Fund to be distributed to the kids of Penn Manor Families that have financial hardships. We are asking for any children’s books and beginner chapter books. Drop boxes will be located in the library, the office, and Room 207 with Ms. Brady. Thank you!
Penn Manor Marching Band is having it’s annual book sale on Friday, April 29th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, April 30th from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Approximately 20,000 books will be grouped by category and displayed on tables in the high school cafeteria. Everything will be priced to sell, with paperbacks and hardbacks priced separately. Donations are needed for this event and will be accepted on Thursday evenings, April 7th, 14th and 21st from 5:30 until 7:30. A drive up drop off will be available at the outside door to the band room. Volunteers will be available to help unload books. We accept gently used books (hardcover or soft), puzzles, DVD’s, and games (no textbooks please).
