Penn Manor High School
Thursday, April 28, 2016, Day 4
Attention NHS members: The NHS meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 28th will now be held on Wednesday, May 4th during homeroom. We will still meet in the cafeteria. Please see Mrs. Henderson or Mrs. Myers prior to the meeting if you have a conflict. Again, the meeting is Wednesday, May 4th, during homeroom.
Attention Senior Athletes: If you participated in a sport this year, you should have received an invite to the Senior Athletic Awards Social to be held on Monday, May 16th. If you did not receive an invitation, please stop in the Athletic Office to pick one up.
RJ Swisher is the Boys Lax Athlete of the Week. As a defenseman, RJ had 2 takeaways and scored 3 goals to spark a 10-8 victory over heavily favored Governor Mifflin High School on Saturday. RJ’s ability to stay poised under pressure in the transition game gave the Boy’s lacrosse team the spark it needed to pick up the 5th win of the season. Sarah Stackhouse is the Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Sarah won the long Jump, was on the winning girls 4×100 relay, and was second in the triple jump in a win vs. Warwick. She also won the triple jump at the Blue Jay Invitational. Isaac Novak is the Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Isaac won the 110 hurdles, was second in the 300 hurdles, and third in the pole vault vs. Warwick. Steven Fafel is the Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week. Steven is the #3 player on the team. Steven finished the regular season with a solid winning record in a tough section in a very accomplished league. He was willing to put in the work and improved every week of the season. He would also take the concepts which we would work on in practice and try his best to implement them in matches. Congratulations to the Penn Manor Athletes of the Week!
AP test-takers who were absent on Wednesday must come to the cafeteria at 10:30 today, after checking in to homeroom for attendance, to complete the data pre-administration. This pre-administration must be done before taking an AP test.
Anyone interested in trying out for Penn Manor Cheerleading should plan to attend the open gyms held on, Monday 5/2 and Wednesday 5/4 from 6-8pm in the Auxiliary Gym.
