Penn Manor High School
Wednesday, May 12, 2016, Day 6
Yearbook Distribution will take place on Thursday, May 12th during all blocks in the Distance Learning Lab located in the library. Any students who are absent or unable to pick up their yearbook that day will have the opportunity to pick up it up in the DLL during lunch on the following dates: May 16th, 17th, 18th, and 20th. We ask that students enter through the hallway doors closest to the lab so that the students working in the library are not disturbed. Students may not pick up yearbooks for siblings, relatives, friends, etc. Extra yearbooks are also available in the cafeteria during the dates listed above for anyone who wants to purchase a 2015-2016 yearbook, while supplies last. Additionally, any C.T.C student who pre-ordered a yearbook may pick it up at the reception area, before or after school until 3:00p.m., on May 12th or during the following week. All students must sign for their yearbook.

Do you like poetry? Would you like to spend an entire day with thousands of other teens who love poetry as much as you do? If your answer is yes, then you’ll want to join us at the Dodge Poetry Festival next October for a fantastic day of creativity, poetry, poets, and out-of-the-box ideas. Plan to attend the organizational meeting this Thursday, May 12, from 3 – 3:30 in Mrs. Saylor’s room, room 326 or see Ms. Brady in room 207 or Mrs. Saylor in room 326 for more information.
Congratulations to our Girls softball team for the clinching the Section I softball title last night defeating Cedar Crest 11-1 and ending the season with a 15-1 league record. Congratulations Girls. The softball team will start league playoffs on Saturday at Garrett Park time to be determined. The Baseball Team defeated Cedar Crest yesterday 8-7 to secure a league playoff spot. The win puts them in a matchup with Hempfield tonight with the winner being crowned Section I champ. Tonight’s game is at Hempfield at 4:00. Good luck boys.
Boys Volleyball Athlete of the Week is Dan Fry. Dan has been exceptional this year in every respect. He has helped spur our team to a 13-2 regular-season finish with his attack, passing, defense, and serve. Dan is one of two primary passers right now, but his reach goes far beyond passing; he is a threat from everywhere on the court. Nicole Hege is Girls lacrosse Athlete of the Week. Nicole is a senior captain and displays leadership on the defensive end. Nicole has a positive attitude and works hard at getting the ball back into the hands of our attacking end. Her positive attitude is evident day in and out at practice and in games. Softball Co-Athletes of Week are Brittany Hook and Danielle Wright. Brittany pitched us to the Section Championship, beating Manheim Township, Hempfield and Cedar Crest. Danielle’s defensive performance against Hempfield was amazing. She threw out a Hempfield runner at plate and had two tremendous diving and running catches in the outfield Baseball Athlete of the Week is Jacob Herr. Jacob pitched a complete game against Manheim Township in a 3 – 1 win. He struck out 14 Township hitters.
There is a mandatory meeting for all juniors in varsity club today. It will be held in the cafeteria.
