The mission statement of the Penn Manor High School English Department is to prepare language arts students for success in a 21st century world; new emphasis on non-fiction has been added in order to help accomplish this goal. Some courses support students’ language development in general; others are designed to help students to progress in specialized areas of interest. Students are required to have at least one English class each of their four high school years but are encouraged to “double up” to take advantage of more of the course offerings.
