School Options Survey

Penn Manor School District is seeking input from the community to help develop a recommendation for the Board of School Directors to consider during its public meeting on Monday, September 21. The administration is considering a possible recommendation to have all students (K-12) physically return to school five days a week instead of continuing with the current Blended Learning schedule. If this were to occur, Penn Manor would continue to follow the health and safety precautions now in place. However, with all students physically in school, there would be limitations on social distancing in classrooms and more students on buses, in hallways and in cafeterias. Please provide your input by completing this survey by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15. https://forms.gle/fAdfmy72nH5sLDg97. We appreciate your valuable feedback.

Back to School Night Principal Message

The faculty members at PMHS have created individual videos to provide parents with an overview of high school course requirements and expectations for the school year.  If a parent wants to schedule a virtual meeting with a teacher, please email the teacher directly to schedule a follow-up appointment.  Teacher email addresses can be found on the classroom link found later in this email.  We are currently holding all of our parent conferences virtually using Google Meet.  If you have additional questions, please contact Mr. Jones at baron.jones@pennmanor.net. Please click the link below to access the teachers’ email addresses and videos.

Attendance on Remote Learning Days – Update

Because the PDE guidelines call for students to be engaged and completing assignments daily, Penn Manor is requiring students to log into the block 1 teachers’ Google Classroom by 8:30 a.m. and then into the remainder of their classes throughout the day.  Students also need to complete the daily assignment and submit it within two days.

While we desire for students to follow the structured day that we have while in school, we do know that some students will need to be afforded some flexibility.  This may be because of a family’s situation and not able to work during the class time or because some will complete the assignment before the class time is over and want to move on to the next assignment.

For these reasons, students must login by 8:30 a.m. and then may log into their blocks 2, 3 and 4 classes at any time throughout the day.  Assignments do need to be submitted within two days.

As with other things this year, the attendance process is fluid so we appreciate your flexibility and willingness to adapt. Please feel free to contact Mr. Jones if you have any questions.

Medication Drop Off

In an effort to reduce the number of people in the building and comply with state regulations for social distancing we are asking if your child takes medication at school that you would schedule a time with your school nurse to drop off medication prior to the start of the school year.  If you are unable to drop off medication prior to the first day we request that you avoid coming to the school during student drop off and pick up times.  Also, when dropping off medication, please limit to 1 person entering the building.  If you are unable to come alone, please contact the school nurse prior to your arrival so arrangements can be made.  School Nurse Contact information can be found here: School Nurse Contact Information

Updated Bell Schedule

To encourage social distancing, the bell schedule has been updated to include 4 lunches. Please see the document below for the specific start and end times of each block on face-to-face learning days. Lunches are determined by the student’s block 3 teacher using the attached list.
