Course Selection – February 9 through February 15

The course request window will be open from Friday February 9 through Thursday, February 15. Students should log in to their Sapphire portal page to request courses for next school year. All course selection information can be found on the high school website under the “For Parents and Students” tab. Students who do not complete the request process during the open window may have courses selected for them. Students should contact their counselor if there are any questions.

Course Selection Night – Feb. 8

Course selection night will be Thursday, February 8 at 6:30 PM in the East Gym. This is an opportunity for parents and students to speak to teachers from different departments about classes for next year, as well as her presentations from counselors on topics such as NCCA requirements, CTC, and financial aid. Please make plans to attend!

 

The informational sessions listed below will be in the high school library at the following times to share these topics:

  • 7:00-7:20 Lancaster County Career and Technology Center Explore Programs available to students that represent high priority occupations.
  • 7:20-7:40 NCAA – If you want to play NCAA sports at a Division I or II school, find out the academic guidelines and how to register for the NCAA Eligibility Center
  • 7:40-8:00 My Smart Borrowing Learn about the online resources to help you make smart choices about borrowing decisions for college-Sponsored by PHEAA

Back to School Night Feedback Requested

Penn Manor School District is looking for input from parents of students in grades 7 thru 12 regarding when to offer Back to School Night. Please take a moment to answer the questions below. Thank-you for your feedback.

Schedule for Jan. 18 – 23

Thursday, January 18 will be the first day of the spring semester.  The high school will also be following a modified testing schedule for keystone exams.  Non- testing freshmen and sophomores will begin the day in their homerooms. Juniors who are not testing will also begin the day in their homerooms to review their PSAT results.  Seniors who do not have obligations may arrive to school at 9:45a.m.

The keystone exams will still be following the original schedule.

Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19 – Literature Keystone Exams

Monday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 23 – Biology Keystone Exams

CTC Meeting – Feb. 2

The CTC meeting that was scheduled for Friday, January 5 has been rescheduled for February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Schedule Changes Due to Snow Days

Because of the two snow days, we are making the following changes to the last week of the schedule and beginning of second semester:

Saturday, January 6: No Saturday School detention

Thursday, January 11: Final Exams for Math, Social Studies, Foreign Language (Regular schedule)

Friday, January 12: Final Exams for English, Science and Electives (Regular schedule)

Monday, January 15: No School

Tuesday, January 16: In-service day – No School

Wednesday, January 17: First day of second semester operating on a Homeroom Schedule – no clubs

Thursday, January 18: Literature Keystone Exams – modified schedule and Juniors in homeroom to review PSAT results

Friday, January 19: Literature Keystone Exams – modified schedule

Monday, January 22: Biology Keystone Exams – modified schedule

Tuesday, January 23: Biology Keystone Exams – modified schedule
