Career Seminar – Computer and Information Technology

The Career Seminar on Computer and Information Technology will be December 17th during 2nd block at 9:30 and during homeroom. Students interested in attending should sign-up to attend during homeroom http://goo.gl/forms/rhSj1uLAqu.  Teachers interested in bringing their 2nd block class should email Dana.wile@pennmanor.net to sign up.

The speakers will be George Stephanis, Programmer for Word Press, Nazli Hardy, Computer Science Professor at Millersville University, and Charlie Reisnger, Technology Director at Penn Manor.

Safe Schools Night – November 23rd

Parents –
You are invited to attend our Safe Schools Night on Monday, November 23 at 6:30 PM in the high school auditorium. John Baker, safety and security manager for IU 13, will be discussing strategies students and staff can use in case of an emergency.  Members of the Penn Manor administration will be in attendance to answer questions. SMART Borrowing Workshop – November 17th

On Tuesday, November 17th at 7PM, the counseling department is hosting a college preparatory event to help you and your parent/guardian learn how to make SMART decisions about career and college choices by using a fun, interactive web based tool. If you would like to attend this event with your parent  please email confirmation to marjean.long@pennmanor.net to reserve your space in the workshop.
Here are some things that you will take away by attending the SMART Borrowing workshop sponsored by PHEAA:
 1. How to avoid over borrowing
 2. See salaries in your chosen career path
 3. Compare your overall costs for different schools
 4. Get an estimate of what your student loan payment could be
 5. Calculate your future monthly payment
Please remember you and your parent/guardian will need to attend with a student laptop to participate in the workshop.  Limited spaces are available and by email confirmation only.

 

Education Day – November 2nd

Education Day is coming to Penn Manor High School on Monday November 2 during block 3 and lunches. This is your chance to visit with over 100 colleges, and other institutions of higher learning and training. You will have an opportunity to meet admission representatives from a broad range of educational institutions to discuss entrance requirements, financial aid, campus life and academic programs. A list of participants is on the high school and counseling office blog. Your parents are invited to attend this event also! Please enter at the Central Complex lobby for the event.

Orders for Cap and Gowns

Seniors are to submit orders for their graduation cap and gowns.  Orders need to be placed by November 1 or the price will increase.  At this time, orders must be placed online.  Please see the information that your son or daughter received in early October and go towww.highschool.herffjones.com to place an order.
