Sign Up for the ACT on Oct. 24th

If you have missed the deadline to sign up for SAT’s and are a junior or senior interested in participating in any postsecondary education, you should sign up to take the ACT here at Penn Manor on October 24th.  Any college will accept either the SAT or ACT scores.  You can sign up to take the ACT here by registering at www.act.org.  The deadline to sign up is this Friday, September 18th.  If you have any questions please see your Counselor.  There are also study guides available in the Counseling Office.

Fall Parents’ Night – September 17th

Dear Parents:
Thursday, September 17th is our Fall Parents’ Night at the high school. Parents’ Night will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium. The administrative team at the high school will share our goal of preparing our students for life after high school and how our activities throughout the year will assist students in meeting this goal. In addition, Dr. Michael Leichliter, Superintendent of Schools, will be present to share information about a plan that is being developed for possible renovations to the existing high school or construction of a new high school.  Following the introductory session in the auditorium, you will then proceed through your child’s fall semester schedule and have the opportunity to hear from each teacher about his or her expectations for the class in which your child is enrolled.
You are encouraged to attend this program, which will give you an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers. Your son or daughter has been asked to complete the schedule below to assist you in finding classrooms and teachers. Please bring this with you to Parents’ Night. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015. If you should have any questions, please contact the high school office at 872-9520, ext. 1809.

Lunch Schedule for Fall 2015

A student’s lunch is determined by their Block 3 class. Below is the lunch schedule for the Fall semester.

Lunch A:  Art, Business, English, Foreign Language, Tech Ed.
Lunch B:  Math, Social Studies
Lunch C:  Agriculture, Phys Ed, Science, FCS, ES

Parking Passes for the 2015 -16 School Year

Parking sign-up will occur for seniors on August 6 from 9:00-11:00 a.m., August 11 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and August 13 for juniors and seniors from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Students need to bring the following: owner’s card, proof of insurance, driver’s license, $20.00 (an additional $20.00 will be collected at the beginning of the Spring semester). All students requesting a parking pass need to have a signed drug screening permission form on file. Forms will be available each day, but then will need to be signed by a parent and returned to the high school office before a student may park on campus.

Laptop Distribution for the 2015 – 16 School Year

Laptop distribution for the 2015-16 school year will begin in August and continue through the first week of school. Any sophomore, junior, or senior may obtain his or her laptop on August 11, 12, and 13 between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the high school library. Those who do not obtain their laptop on those days will be scheduled to pick up their laptop on Thursday, August 27, or Friday, August 28, during the school day. Incoming freshmen will be scheduled to obtain their laptop on Monday, August 31 during the school day. In order to obtain a laptop, students and parents must sign the 1:1 laptop agreement.
