Parent Tech Training
Dear Parents;
As we prepare for the implementation of our 1:1 laptop program in January, we will be offering three sessions for high school parents to introduce the program, demonstrate the laptop that students will receive, and provide an opportunity for questions to be answered. The sessions will be held on October 24, November 20, and December 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School library.
Approximately 90 laptops have been distributed to students as a pilot program. From this group of students we have learned valuable information that will enable the full implementation of the program be successful. We value your input and questions as part of the preparation process so we encourage you to attend one or more of the sessions.
Please feel free to contact Charlie Reisinger, district Technology Director, at (717) 872-9500 or charlie.reisinger@pennmanor.net or me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Philip B. Gale, Ed.D.

Parents’ Night – Thursday September 12th
Dear Parents:
Thursday, September 12, is our Fall Parents’ Night at the high school. Parents’ Night will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium. The administrative team at the high school will share our goal of preparing our students for life after high school and how our activities throughout the year will assist students in meeting this goal. Following the introductory session in the auditorium, you will then proceed through your child’s first semester schedule and have the opportunity to hear from each teacher about his or her expectations for the class in which your child is enrolled.
Throughout the night, Charlie Reisinger, technology director, will be in the library to share information about the 1:1 laptop program we will be implementing in January and the process parents use to obtain a Sapphire account to view students’ grades and attendance information. A representative from the Career and Technology Centers will be available in the counseling office to answer your questions about CTC programs.
You are encouraged to attend this program, which will give you an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers. Your son or daughter has been asked to complete the schedule below to assist you in finding classrooms and teachers. Please bring this with you to Parents’ Night. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013. If you should have any questions, please contact the high school office at 872-9520, ext. 1809.
