Disclaimer

The Penn Manor Yearbook is produced entirely by students in the Yearbook class in a learning situation who are responsible for layout, copy, and picture selection on each page. Given the limitations of time, space, and budget, it is our goal to give fair and equal coverage to all aspects of school life. There are, however, some things over which we have little or no control:

·       changed/canceled dates

·       students who miss both school picture days due to absences

·       seniors who don’t turn in biographies or have photos taken by Prestige

Consequently, any omissions or errors are purely accidental and are in no way intentional on the part of the yearbook staff, the adviser, or the publisher. As a staff, every effort was made to be accurate and exhaustive in student body coverage.

Additionally, with the challenges of Covid-19, we did our best to correctly identify all students and any errors in identification are purely accidental. All photos taken on school property adhered to school and state guidelines of safety and social distancing.

Finally, every page is proofread at least three times before being sent to the publisher.  We regret any inaccuracies, including misspelled names, and offer our apologies to anyone affected.

We truly hope you enjoy the 2021 PM Yearbook.

Summer Office Hours

The high school main office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Please call 717-872-9520 if you want to make an appointment.

Be cautious. The high school campus is undergoing a significant amount of construction over the course of the summer.  Please make sure to ask which entrance is available when you plan to visit the campus.

Have a great summer!

Commencement being moved to Friday, June 4, due to weather

Due to inclement weather and the possibility of lightning Thursday evening, Penn Manor’s 2021 commencement has been rescheduled for Friday, June 4. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in Millersville University’s Biemesderfer Stadium.

Friday’s ceremony will be held rain or shine, and guests should dress appropriately. The ceremony will be livestreamed here for those unable to attend. If the ceremony must be shortened because of weather conditions, pre-recorded graduation speeches will be shown on the Penn Manor YouTube channel.

This year’s speakers are valedictorian Andrew Glenn, salutatorian Jordan Schucker, class president Naisha Lamour, Thomas Hockenberry and Arden Morgan.

Members of the Class of 2021 received seven admission tickets each for family/friends to attend the ceremony. The stadium will open at 6 p.m.

Senior Awards Ceremony

The Penn Manor School District presents the 54th annual Senior Awards Ceremony.  This year’s awards will be present this evening, May 20th in the high school auditorium.  The High School Administration along with several members of our Penn Manor Education Foundation and community will be presenting awards and scholarships to over 90 graduating seniors. Although we do invite all seniors and their families to watch and celebrate the Class of 2021, those students who are receiving an award this evening were sent an invitation in the mail to attend the ceremony in person.

High School to be closed for weekend deep cleaning

Note: Penn Manor High School Post Prom activities for the evening of Friday April 23 will proceed as scheduled.

When schools reopen on Monday, April 26, the active COVID-19 case counts at all school buildings will be reset to zero (0).

Teen Hope Screenings

High school shifting to online learning March 8-12

The district is shifting to online learning for all Penn Manor High School students, effective Monday, March 8, through Friday, March 12. All co-curricular activities are cancelled until at least the middle of the week. The high school building is closed to students and staff.

Over the weekend, we learned that two individuals in our Penn Manor High School community have tested positive for COVID-19, with the most recent notification received on Saturday, March 6.  The new cases and resulting quarantines have impacted the district’s ability to staff critical operations for the high school. The decision to shift to online learning is being made in response to the recommended framework from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for actions necessary following the identification of active COVID-19 cases.

No schedule changes are planned for any other Penn Manor schools at this time.

We have notified the Pennsylvania Department of Health and our contacts at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. The individuals who may have been in close contact with the persons who tested positive have been notified and instructed to quarantine, following Department of Health guidelines. All contact tracing and notifications have been completed.

During this time, high school students and faculty will follow the Full Remote Schedule that can be found here. Classes will begin at 7:40 a.m.  Students will receive daily live, video instruction on these days. Students will sign in to the Google Meet provided by their teacher through Google Classroom and follow the teachers’ expectations for the class.  Students are to be prepared for learning, have all class materials, work in a space that is free from distractions, and be actively participating during the class

Full-day CTC students will continue to report to the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center (CTC). Transportation will be provided from Penn Manor High School in the morning and return to the high school in the afternoon. Half-day CTC students may report to the CTC during this time, while also participating in their Penn Manor classes. A shuttle bus will transport students to and from the high school. Students will need to be at the cafeteria entrance by 10:45 am. Half-day CTC students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the high school.

Regular, in-person classes for high school students will resume on Monday, March 15, unless the school district learns of additional information that would require an extension of the closure to assure the safety of the high school community. We encourage you to monitor the district website for updates regarding this situation. All families and faculty will receive a follow-up email from principal Baron Jones regarding expectations for online learning.

During the closure, we expect students to act responsibly by practicing social distancing, wearing masks in public and monitoring their health. If you or a member of your household tests positive for COVID-19, please contact the high school nurse at 717-872-9520, ext. 1356, so we can identify any other individuals who may have been in close contact in the school setting. As a community, we all need to do our part to assure that in-person learning can safely resume for Penn Manor students.
