All students who are taking an Open Campus class during the spring semester need to attend a brief meeting during homeroom on Thursday, January 28. The meeting will begin at 10:30 in the Distance Learning Lab in the library.

The next Manor FFA meeting will be held on Monday, February 1 in room 342 at 7:00-8:30 PM. All students with agriculture classes this school year are welcome to come and give valuable input into your organization. At this meeting, you will get to meet with the FFA Alumni organization. Any senior athlete attending college and playing a sport that hasn’t been contacted by the athletic office should stop in to see Mr. Roth about information regarding Signing Day.

All students who are taking an Open Campus class during the spring semester need to attend a brief meeting during homeroom on Thursday, January 28. The meeting will begin at 10:30 in the Distance Learning Lab in the library.

Ready to dance the night away? This Saturday is the annual Winter Formal. The scene is the Roaring Twenties, the dress is semi-formal so no jeans, the cost is $5 a person, and the plan is to have fun! We will have music, lights, photos, and balloons! Drinks and pearls will be for sale. The dance runs from 7-10pm. Don’t miss it! Anyone planning on bringing a friend to the dance from another school must get approval, please pick up a form in the office.

Attention sound crew: There will be no sound crew meeting after school Tuesday, January 26th.

Seniors- If you are going to college you must complete your FAFSA financial aid application. The first step is to get a FSA ID! Please do this now and then get that FAFSA filled out. Stop in the counseling office to pick up information sheets on how to do this if you need help.

Due to the snow forecast for this weekend, Saturday School is cancelled January 23rd.  Students who were assigned Saturday School will be called to the office to reassign their obligation.

Attention players who participate in the All Rec basketballl games are cancelled for Friday night due to the impending weather. Please look for an e-mail from your coach with more information.

The Winter Track Team will NOT be going to the meet at Penn State on Saturday due to the weather.

Due to the inclement weather forecast the girls’ soccer spaghetti dinner fundraiser has been re-scheduled to Tuesday February 2nd.

Last night, at the Lancaster County Courthouse, the Penn Manor Mock Trial Team won a unanimous verdict in their civil case against Cocalico. Ava Dunford-Groves was awarded “best attorney” for the competition, with Veronica Cazillo picking up “best witness” honors. The Comets also got great performances from lawyers Justin Henson and Sydney Leichliter as well as quality testimony from witnesses Clay Shuffelbottom and Hannah Ashworth. Our next trial is on February 9th against perennial power McCaskey. Congrats to the entire team.

Due to the snow forecast for this weekend, Saturday School is cancelled. Once again, Saturday School is cancelled on Saturday, January 23rd. Students who were assigned Saturday School will be called to the office to reassign their obligation.

Attention Open Campus Creative Writing students. There will be a mandatory meeting at the beginning of homeroom on Thursday in Room 312 regarding the upcoming semester. You have been signed out of homeroom on this date and passes have been given to your first block teachers. Please plan on attending.

Yearbook Club will NOT be meeting this week. We will meet again next week on Wednesday, Jan. 27th. Thank you!

Are you taking an Open Campus class this semester? All students who are taking Open Campus classes should have the introductory unit completed. Open Campus classes begin on Monday, January 25th. Please log in and begin your coursework on Monday.

The cheerleading boosters will be holding a sweetheart dance in the cafeteria on Saturday, February 13th from 7:30-10:30. Tickets will be $6.00. Tickets will be available for sale at all lunches on January 19th and 21st and February 2nd and 4th. Tickets will also be available at the door. Any questions regarding the dance, please see any Penn Manor Cheerleader.

Students interested in a career for beauty, the Empire Beauty School is hosting an open house on Thursday Janaury 21st at 2pm. Please stop by the Counseling office for more information.

If you are taking an Honors or College Prep English class in the spring, please remember to have your summer reading requirement book read by the first day of class on January 19th! Be prepared!

Monday is National Day of Service. Dr. Martin King, Jr. once said “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.” Dr. King further challenged our nation to service of our fellow man by asking, “What are you doing for others?”. Monday is Martin Luther King Day. Consider spending the day volunteering by checking out the United Way of Lancaster’s website for volunteer opportunities for MLK National Day of Service.

Spring career internship students please report to the West gym on Tuesday January 19th at the beginning of homeroom. All information and materials will be given out. If you have questions…email Mr. Basile.

Gentlemen who are interested in playing volleyball this spring, make sure you get your physical done right away. Forms are in the office or the athletic office. Then come on out to open gyms every Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., in the West Gym.
