Attention Juniors: The deadline to turn in permission forms for the trip to Gettysburg College is January 30th. We are filling three vans, so get your form turned in asap to reserve your seat. The trip is on Monday, February 6th. Please stop by room B133 to pick up a permission form.

Attention Senior Class: The Penn Manor Education Foundation Scholarships Application is now open. There are 90 local scholarships available and the deadline to apply is March 17th. All of the instructions on how to apply are listed in the Senior Class google classroom. Feel free to stop in the Career Office if you have any questions. Workshops to help you complete your applications will be held in February during Flex. Stay tuned for upcoming dates.

If you or your family would like to purchase a Senior Dedication Ad for the yearbook, now is the time to do so. All ads are due by January 31st. To purchase one, go to www.jostens.com and follow the instructions from there. Please see Miss Anderson with any questions.

Meet the Teacher Night Tonight 1/26

Please join us tonight for the open house and meet the teacher night at the high school. The doors will open at 6:00 PM.

Spring Semester, Meet the Teacher Night, and Winter Formal…

Spring Semester schedules start Monday January 23. Don’t forget After School Intervention sessions are available. Don’t get behind, stay ahead by staying after school!

  • Have you ever heard the term “work smarter, not harder”?  In these After School Intervention (ASI) sessions your child will learn some tricks and tips that will allow them to get the maximum results from their efforts.  It is the start of a new marking period and why prepare them with some of those tools to help them get the second semester off to a strong start?
    • These support will be done on Wednesdays during After School Intervention time. (3:00 – 4:00 pm.)
    • Each week during February we will be featuring a different topic:
      • February 1, 2023:    Time Management
      • February 8, 2023:    Organization 
      • February 15, 2023:  Planning and Prioritizing 
      • February 22, 2023:  Academic Stress Management
    • Each session starts with a group activity of tricks and tips to help the student.  The second half of the session will be working 1:1 with students on these skills.
    • Use the link below to sign up for which session you would like for your high school student to attend.  Each Monday in February the student will receive a reminder email and the link to sign up for that Wednesday’s ASI.

Meet the Teacher Night– PMHS is holding the second semester “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday, January 26, 2023.  This event is an open house format.  The teachers are excited to share the great things they have planned for the students for the second semester.

Winter Formal– The Winter Formal is almost here. This year’s dance will have a Fairytale theme for all the princes and princesses out there. The dance will take place on Saturday, January 28th in the high school cafeteria from 6-9 pm. Students must buy their tickets in advance. They will be on sale during lunches the week of January 23rd and the cost is $10. If you are bringing a guest from outside of Penn Manor High school, be sure to complete a guest form from the office. All proceeds from the dance will go directly to local charities. Dress is semi-formal. We hope to see everyone there!

First Semester Ends 1/19/2023

A reminder that the 2nd marking period/1st semester ends on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Any student that needs additional academic support can sign up for ASI (After School Intervention) using this daily sign up link.  ASI is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2:55-3:55 PM. Students in grades 9-12 can receive subject specific support, quiet study time, and transportation to hubs throughout the Penn Manor School District. A reminder that each day a student plans to stay for support, must be a separate completion of the link above.

1/16 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day – NO SCHOOL

1/17 -Final Exams- Math, Social Studies, World Language

1/18 – Final Exams English, Science, Electives

1/19 – Final Exams Makeup & End of the 2nd marking period/1st semester

  • 6:00 PM – FASFA – Completion Workshop in the LGI

1/20 – k-12 In-Service – NO SCHOOL

1/23 – First day of the 2nd semester/3rd marking period

1/26 – Meet the teacher night for the 2nd semester.

  • Parents are welcome to this drop in event from 6-8 PM.

1/27- k -12 Early Dismissal

2022-23 Yearbook

Be sure to purchase a 2022-2023 yearbook! Yearbooks are currently on sale for $85 and can be purchased at the following link. Be sure to purchase before the price increases on 1/27! 

Reminder: Keystone Testing begins 1/04/2023

Juniors and seniors that are not testing will be permitted to arrive at school at the end of the testing block each day as long as they are in good standing and have transportation. 

Freshmen and sophomores that are not testing will report to their Friday flex class. 

Schedules and room assignments for flex will be posted in grade level google classrooms.  Below are dates and times for Keystone Exams:

January 4th and 5th – Literature – 7:40 – 10:15

January 9th and 10th – Algebra – 7:40 – 10:00

January 11th and 12th – Biology 7:40 – 9:45 

*Students who are testing have received an email from Mr. Fowler with specific testing information.

**Testing reminders – get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, be on time, stay positive, do your best!
