Career Day–Preparing Students for Life after High School

On Friday, February 26th, Penn Manor High School will be hosting our 3rd annual Career Day.  A primary focus of PMHS is to prepare our students for life after high school.  Career Day is one way we achieve this goal.  Students had the opportunity to choose careers of interest over the past couple of weeks.

Career Day is a valuable experience.  Student attendance is expected and parents are welcome.  Career day begins at 7:40 on Friday.  While some seniors may be completing a career shadowing requirement or making college visits, all other students are required to attend as this is a school day.  During Career Day, students will learn more about a career of interest or be exposed to new careers.

Local professionals will be sharing information about their careers.  Over 70 presenters will be representing careers in four Career Pathways:  Arts and Communication; Business and Finance; Engineering, Science and Technology; and Health and Social Sciences.  We hope you can join us for this exciting educational experience.

Career Day Sign-Ups

On Friday, February 26, 2010 over 60 Professionals from our community will be at the high school to share information with our students about their careers.

Seniors have the option of Career Shadowing or choosing three Career Day Speakers.

All 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will sign up to hear two career day speakers.  One of their sessions will be pre-assigned in the auditorium.  A panel of admission counselors and current college students will be sharing information with our students. The theme of the keynote and in the auditorium will be “what skills will you need to be successful in and out of school.”

Sign ups will be done online this year. Students will choose three speakers and one will be used as an alternative.  Students received written instructions in homeroom on February 9 on the sign up procedures.

Online sign-ups are now closed.
