Pathways to Gold Collar Careers
Check out this great opportunity as you begin preparing for your life after high school! Many careers will be featured during the November 12, 2009 Pathways to Gold Collar Careers workshops. Earn hours toward your community service requirement for your graduation project. See Mrs. Cox at lunch so you know how to document the hours. Click on the link for more information. Pick up a handout to take home in the guidance office.
Yearbook Information
- Senior Parent Ads, Senior Directory Sheets, and Senior Superlative Ballots are due at the school by 10/11. If you didn’t receive these papers in the mail you can pick up a copy in the office.
- 10/30 Picture retakes/make up photos for underclassmen.
- During the month of November, Jostens will send out Yearbook order forms. You can order on line, by phone, or through the mail.
Super Wednesday–October 14, 2009
PMHS will run a modified schedule on October 14, 2009 to accommodate testing sessions and some class meetings, plus PSSA preparation sessions for the PSSA Retakes for Seniors. The retakes are scheduled for October 27, 28, and 29.

Parent Coffee–October 19, 2009–7 PM
Come join us for an evening of information regarding planning for your child’s future. The Parent Coffee is open to parents of all PMHS students. We will begin in the auditorium at 7:00 PM. Breakout session topics include Financial Aid information or Life After High School–Career Exploration.
- The Financial Aid information will be important to parents of seniors and relevant to parents of juniors looking at financing education or training after high school, although all parents are welcome to attend. The Financial Aid Workshop will be given by a representative of PHEAA ( Pa Higher Education Assistance Agency) and will cover aspects of all types of financial aid options.
- The Career Exploration session is again open to all parents. We will walk parents through a program that may help students plan for the future. Information about graduation projects will also be provided.

School Pictures–Grades 9-11
School Pictures will be taken on Friday, 9/25 for all Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen. All students in grades 9-11 will have pictures taken for a school ID and for the yearbook. To order pictures, use the photo form that came home the first day of school. Additional photo order forms are available in the office.
Giant Bonus Card A+ School Rewards
Penn Manor High School has again been offered an opportunity to participate in the GIANT A+ School Rewards Program. Starting October 4, 2009 through March 13, 2010, Penn Manor High School will have the opportunity to earn CASH through this exciting program.
After you designate the high school, each shopping trip at a participating* GIANT store using your BONUSCARD earns CASH for our school! You can track the amount of points you earn for our school by checking your grocery receipt. Each month, the amount of CASH awarded will be updated on the GIANT website. Our school will receive a check at the end of the program. The money can be used for any of our school’s educational needs.
You can designate in a few ways. You can email your BONUSCARD number and last name to krista.cox@pennmanor.net or you can go to the Giant A+ School Rewards website and designate the high school using ID # 02139. In addition, you can call the high school office, send a comment back through the blog, or print a Giant BONUSCARD designation form, fill it out and return it to the high school office. Please be sure to designate Penn Manor High School using ID # 02139 Also, don’t forget to encourage your friends and relatives to do the same. It could mean the world to our children!
