Real Life Volunteers Needed for 2/28 and 3/1!!

We are still in need of 6 volunteers for February 28th and 15 volunteers for March 1st to assist Junior Achievement of South Central PA in presenting the REAL Life financial literacy program to Penn Manor High School juniors.

All 11th-graders will participate in the day-long program, which includes activities designed to encourage students to plan for their own economic success.

REAL Life will include budgeting exercises to help students understand how financial decisions today will impact their lives as young adults. The sessions also will include activities to help students improve their resume writing and interviewing skills.

Volunteers are needed to lead one activity per day as students rotate through different stations in the high school auxiliary gym. Junior Achievement will provide online training and on-site support to all volunteers, and a light breakfast and lunch will be available.

You do not need to be an approved school volunteer to participate.

Please share this volunteer opportunity with friends, neighbors and colleagues who may be interested in helping our students. Here are more specifics on volunteer duties and a direct link to sign up. If Penn Manor cannot enough volunteers, we may not be able to provide this valuable program.

For more information on the REAL Life, contact Shannon Baker, Junior Achievement vice president of program operations, at sbaker@jascpa.org.

If you have any specific questions regarding Penn Manor’s program, please contact Kim Marsh at 717-872-9520 ext. 1807.

Please consider volunteering and joining us as we spend the day empowering and inspiring our students!

STEM Summit Volunteers Needed!

We need your help! On Wednesday, November 30th and Thursday, December 1st Junior Achievement of South Central PA will be at Penn Manor High School with our STEM Summit Program.
All students in 9th grade will be participating in the day-long event designed
to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
The goal of the STEM Summit is to inspire students to pursue an academic
STEM focus in the remainder of their high school courses. After the completion
of the STEM Summit, school counselors have a foundation to work with
students on appropriate course work.
For this day to be a success, we will need volunteers to facilitate ONE of the
STEM activities for the day as students rotate through your station. You do not
need to have a STEM background to be a great volunteer! If we do not have
these volunteer spots filled, we are in danger of not being able to run this
meaningful event. Please also share this opportunity with friends, neighbors
and colleagues who may be interested in helping the students of our school.
A flyer with all of the information for the day and an email to register for
the day is included.
You do not have to be an approved school volunteer to help with this day.
Junior Achievement will provide online training as well as on-site support to all
volunteers. A light breakfast and lunch will also be available for volunteers.
Please consider volunteering and join us as we spend the day empowering and
inspiring our students. This opportunity is only possible with the support of
wonderful volunteers like you.
To sign up to volunteer, click the link in the flyer or contact Shannon Baker,
Vice President Program Operations, at sbaker@jascpa.org. If you have any specific questions, please reach out to Kim Marsh 872-9520 ext 1807 or email kimberly.marsh@pennmanor.net
