Attention students who attended Manor Middle School: Mrs. Niemkiewicz is retiring. If you had her as a teacher, you know how much she has done for you. If you would like to sign a retirement card for her, please come to Mrs. Letavic’s room – C-128 – any block! She would love to hear from all of you!

All library books are due back by the end of the day this Friday, May 26th. Please return all books to the library circulation desk or drop off books in the return slot in the hallway. Any books not returned will become an obligation. Next week students will able to check out books for the summer.

Seniors, remember to stay after graduation practice on Tuesday May 30th for the Senior Class picnic on the High School Turf Field. Free chic fil a sandwiches, snacks, and ice cream will be provided. There will also be games and inflatables! Come celebrate with your friends!!

This past weekend, Penn Manor’s Overwatch Team cinched the state title in Pennsylvania’ PIEA Grand Championship in Philadelphia. They defeated Chambersburg High School finishing an undefeated season. Congratulations to all the members of the Penn Manor Overwatch Team and to their Coach Tyler Loyd.

Attention Students! The Yearbooks have arrived! We will be holding distribution days on Tuesday May 16th and Wednesday May 17th during all lunches! If you ordered a yearbook, you should receive a ticket from your Block 1 teacher. Please bring this ticket with you when you pick up your yearbook. If you do not have a ticket, you can’t get your yearbook. There will also be a limited number of yearbooks for sale for $96, which can be paid with cash or check. Distribution will take place in front of the bathrooms in the cafeteria. Please see Miss Anderson with any questions.

Have you had changes in your sleep? Do you feel easily angered? Major Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the world. You are not alone. May is mental health month and Aevidum placed placards in some of the stalls throughout the school. You can scan the QR code on left side to enter a raffle with prizes. Help stall or end the shame around mental illness. It’s okay to ask for help.

The track and field teams picked up two wins yesterday in their final dual meets of the season against Lebanon. The boys won by a score of 108-42 with the girls final of 95-49. In the boys meet, Trevor Schneider remained undefeated on the season in high jump with a winning jump of 6 feet 2 inches. Jael Cruz and Wyatt Kauffman had personal bests in the discus with throws of 148 feet 2 inches and 138 feet 2 inches. In the sprints Jon Osman picked up wins in the 100 and 200 and Adrian set a new sophomore school record in the 200m with a time of 22.7 For the girls, Annie Bibus picked up three wins in all of the distance races. Corrinne Smith finished second in the pole vault and jumped the league qualifying height in the process. Both teams now advance to the league championship meet this Friday and Saturday at Hempfield High School.

May is mental health month. Aevidum wants you to know you are not alone in your struggle. Adults in the school care about your well-being. The Aevidum club wants to “stall the stigma” or end the shame around having a mental illness. Some of the restroom stalls in the school have mental health information and anyone in the school can scan the QR code on the left side to enter into a raffle with prizes.

Today Empower-Her Club will meet with only the leaders for next school year. Other members, please report to your regular block 1.

The track and field teams competed at two meets this weekend and came away with some big performances. On Friday night at the Henderson Invitational, Brianna Lee won the high jump with a jump of 5′-3″. Also in the high jump, Mikayla Weaver cleared 5′-1″ which is a new Penn Manor freshman record. In the 3200, Kaleb Kabakjian ran a time of 9:35.70, which is a personal best. At the Blue Streak Relays, the team of Quinn Poole and Jason Andro took 1st place overall. On the girls side, Maleah Zook and Abby Harnish finished in 3rd place, which both jumping personal bests. In the long jump, Kayla Phillips and Kate Harnish finished in second place overall. Kate’s jump of 17′-0.5″ is a new Penn Manor sophomore record. Great job to all athletes that competed. Missed from the meet notes last week- Jon Osman set a new school record in the boys 100 meters on Monday. His time of 10.7 breaks the old record of 10.9 set by Theoren McElheny in 2018. Both teams will compete today at 4, with senior recognition at 5pm during the meet.

The Penn Manor Football program is having a kickoff meeting for all prospective players currently in grades 6 -11 interested in playing Middle School, Freshmen and High School football this fall. This mandatory meeting will take place in the high school cafeteria at 6:30pm on Tuesday May 2. A makeup meeting will be held on Wednesday May 3 at 6:30. The meeting will last an hour. The boys and girls track team both came up short yesterday against two very strong Cedar Crest teams.The boys lost by a score of 91-59. Leading the way were Jon Osman, who ran seasons bests in the 100 and 200, Sebastian Weaver who picked up a win the pole vault with a league qualifying height of 11′-6″ and the throwing crew of Josh Doyle, Jael Cruz, Connor Dumas and Wyatt Kauffman. The girls fell by a score of 111-39. Picking up wins were Brianna Lee in the 100 with a personal best of 12.6 seconds, Kate Harnish in the long jump and the girls 4 x 100 relay of Kayla Phillips, Brianna Lee, Kate Harnish and Ava Washington with a season best time of 52.3. Next Home meet for both teams will be next Monday, May 8th at 4 pm. This will also be senior night for our graduating seniors.

You must purchase tickets at the time you sign up, the cost is $65. If you have outstanding financial obligations, they MUST be settled before you will be permitted to buy prom tickets. Any group wishing to sit together MUST pay for tickets at the same time. Be sure of your table selection when you buy your tickets, seats cannot be changed after you sign up. If you would like to bring a guest that does not attend Penn Manor High School, you must get an Approved Guest Form from the main office. This is required prior to purchasing your tickets. In the Pennsylvania Scholastic Esports League, Penn Manor Overwatch finished their Spring season undefeated, with a 7 – 0 record. Playoffs continue next week. Penn Manor Varsity Rocket League continued their dominance in the High School Esports League by defeating the Green Hope Falcons in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday. They face off against the Westwood Regional High School Cardinals tonight in semifinals. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in your future games.

Not sure if college is the right fit for you? The Counseling Department is hosting a Post-Secondary Training Fair on April 18th during Block 4. Juniors and seniors are welcome to sign up to talk to local organizations and businesses to learn more about the training they offer. This is a great opportunity for students planning to enter the workforce after graduation.

The Penn Manor Boys Tennis Team defeated Warwick in their last away match of the season with the final score of 4-3 Will Steltz & Grant Rost easily dominated in doubles with a score of 8-2 PJ Fahey at #1 singles had a quick match winning 6-2/6-1 Aidan Karlow at #4 also contributed to the teams win with a match score of 6-2/6-0 It came down to Grant Rost at #3 singles where he battled in the first set coming back to win 7-5 and then won his second set 6-2. The boys tennis team’s last home match is this Wednesday at Manor Middle beginning at 4pm so come out and support!

Boys and Girls track and field competed yesterday at Warwick with the boys picking up their second win on the season 90-60. The girls fell to a talented Warwick group by a score of 102-46. Picking up event wins for the girls was Kate Harnish in the long jump and pole vault, Jireh Ellis in the 100 hurdles, Cassidy McCollum in the Javelin. Annie Bibus and Madison Martin finished first and second in the 3200m. On the boys side, Drew Lebo picked up three wins, Jason Andro and Quinn Poole finished first and second in both the long and triple jumps, Kaleb Kabakjian won both the 1600m and 3200m and Trevor Schneider remains undefeated on the year in the high jump. Both teams will compete at the Leonard Stephan Invitational on Saturday held at Wilson High School.

Penn Manor High School is preparing to kick off its Link Crew program for the 2023-2024 school year. WHAT’S LINK CREW? Link Crew is an orientation program to welcome in our 9th graders so that they get off to a great start at Penn Manor High School. Current 10th and 11th graders, we need you! You, as a Link Crew Leader, would play a crucial role in that because you can share what you’ve learned through the years you’ve been here so far. You, along with other 11th and 12th graders next year, will be trained in how to work with incoming 9th graders. You and a partner will have a small group of about ten 9th graders that you will guide, mentor and lead through the year. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? Well, because we need student leaders to step up and be an important part of our school. And, it’s going to be fun! Who doesn’t want to have fun? If you would like to apply to be a Link Leader, please find the application link of your class’ google classroom or see Mrs. Harting or Mr. Fisher.

ATTENTION students and staff! The Class of 2025 is bringing a Chick-fil-A Sandwich sale to Penn Manor where you will be able to purchase a classic chicken sandwich to enjoy on April 21st, an early dismissal day for students. Sandwiches must be preordered and purchased by Friday, April 14th. Orders may be submitted by the google form that was emailed to you or at lunches Tuesday and Wednesday after break. Sandwiches are $7.00 each. Bottled water will be sold for $1.00. Cash or checks need to be turned in to class officers at lunches or to the counseling office by Friday, April 14th to order food. Checks are made payable to PMHS Class of 2025. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Snyder. Thank you for supporting the class of 2025!

Students in grades 10-12 interested in attending a field trip to Fort Indiantown Gap Training Center on April 24th can pick up a permission form in the counseling office. Students will be able to complete an obstacle course, tour both medical and training wings. Lunch is provided.

There are only a few spots remaining on the trip to see the Broadway show, Hadestown on Wednesday, May 3rd. Any qualifying theatre students must lock in their spot this week. You can’t beat the bargain price of just $20 to include the show ticket and coach bus – stop by room C205 to pick up a registration form right away.

Reminder: Mrs. Reburn’s Crochet and Knitting Club is cancelled today (Wednesday 4/12)

Boys track and field picked up a win yesterday against Manheim Township with a final score of 85-65. Leading the way for boys was Jon Osman and Adrian Smith who both ran 10.9 in the 100 meters. In the field, Jael Cruz, Wyatt Kauffman and Josh Doyle had great throws to lead the group. On the girls side, the final score was 99-51, with Township picking up the win. On the track, coming away with wins were Jireh Ellis and Maleah Zook in the hurdle races. In the the field, we were led by Maddie Whited, Kate Harnish, Brianna Lee, Jadyn Coble and GG Moenga. Brianna Lee tied the high jump record clearing a height of 5′-4″. That record has stood for 45 years. Great job by all of our athletes!

Today during flex, JUNIORS will be asked to check into flex and wait for the announcement to head to the auditorium for a class meeting.

The boys and girls track teams lost two close meets yesterday to Hempfield. The girls meet was scored 89-61 and the boys final score was 86-64. Leading the way for the girls was a dominant performance by the throwing team consisting of Jayden Coble, GG Moenga, Trinity Mowery, Sylvia Moenga, Cassidy McCollum, Maddie Whited and Alyssa Jones. They scored 26 out of a possible 27 points in the throwing events. In the high jump,Mikayla Weaver and Kat Stover finished in first and 3rd while also hitting the leaque qualifying standard. The boys were led by Drew Lebo, who picked up two wins in the hurdles, Jon Osman who won the 100 and 200 and Jason Andro, winning both the long and triple jumps. Capping off the meet was Trevor Schneider, clearing 6′-5″ in the high jump, tying the school record, set by Troy Murray in 2000. Great job by all of our athletes. Next meet is at home against Manheim Township on Tuesday, April 11th

Baseball improved to 5-0 on the season with a 5-3 win over Cedar Crest. Julia Bowmaster lead the softball team to a 8-0 win over Cedar Crest by pitching a no-hitter.

This is a Penn Manor Esports Update: This past weekend, both the Penn Manor Varsity and JV Teams entered the Harrisburg University PA Cup Tournament. They won both their divisions and faced off against each other in the finals. Penn Manor’s Varsity Team prevailed and the JV Team came in second place. Congratulations to both teams for being a great representation for Penn Manor. In other Esports news, Penn Manor Rocket League Teams finished their spring season, with the Varsity team placing 2nd out of 158 teams, and the JV Gold Team placing 14th. Aidan Schlegal, on the Brawlhalla Team, finished his season placing 24th out of 273 teams. Owen Fryberger, on the Minecraft team, finished his season 12th out of 370 teams. The Rocket League, Minecraft, and Brawlhalla teams will continue their seasons in the Championship Bracket after the break. Overwatch 2’s Spring Season continues with their final match this week. They are undefeated. Good luck Overwatch 2 as you face your final opponent of the season.

Congratulations to the Penn Manor Unified Track Team on their first meet yesterday against the JP McCaskey Tornadoes!! The Comets came up short of the win with a score of 135 to the Tornadoes 177 but there were many athletes with new PRs on the track and in their field events!! Congratulations PM Unified!

Baseball improved to 2-0 with an exciting 3-2 in extra innings over LS. Bruce Avery scored the game winning run after leading off the 8th with a single. Isaac Braegelmann had the game winning hit. Grant Fry earned the win on the mound. Girls Lacrosse improved to 5-0 with a 19-5 win over Ephrata. In the game, Grace Gerner earned her 100 career draw control. Boys lacrosse got back in the win column with an 11-7 win over Ephrata while softball improved to 2-0 with a 9-2 win over LS. Unified Track had their first meet of the year but dropped their meet to McCaskey. In track on Tuesday, Drew Lebo had three wins in the 110 and 300 hurdles along with the pole vault. Kaleb Kabakjian won the 3200 and Trevor Schneider in the high jump. On the girls side, Maddie Whited won the triple jump, Briana Lee the high jump and Kate Harnish the pole vault. Both teams however lost the meet to McCaskey.

Boys volleyball picks up a huge win by defeating defending District III Champion and state’s 10th ranked Central Dauphin 3-1. Scores for the Comets were 25-22, 25-16, 19-25 and 25-22. Jason Osman had 10 kills, Wyatt Rohrer with 2 aces, Noah Reen and Roman Keefer with 3 blocks, Elijah Julien with 13 digs and Wyatt Rohrer with 34 assists in the win. Boys lacrosse improved to 2-0 with a 19-2 win over Lancaster Country Day. Grant Bradburn led the team with 5 goals in the win. Baseball had an offensive output winning 16-0 in their season opener over William Penn. Girls lacrosse continued their hot start with a 15-4 win over Spring Grove to improve to 3-0 on the season. On Tuesday, softball won their season opener 1-0 in extra innings over Conestoga Valley. Julia Bowmaster pitched the shutout for the Comets in the win!

In addition, Eva Brubaker qualified individually for the State Bowling Championships finishing in the top 5 out of over 150 bowlers at the Eastern PA Regional Championships. In girl’s wrestling, Kaitlyn Clawson, Trinity Mowery and Anisa Orr all qualified for the girl’s state wrestling championships at Central Dauphin HS this Sunday. Mowery and Orr both finished 2nd in their weight class while Clawson finished 3rd. Congrats to the three and best of luck this weekend at States.

Overwatch took their first match of the Spring Season by defeating Pine Grove School District; Rocket League Gold defeated Georgia Cyber School and Rocket League Varsity defeated Carmichael High School 4 – 0 putting them at 3 – 0 for the season. David Groff defeated his opponent in chess this week, bringing his record to 2 and 1 and moving him into the top fourth of the league; Owen Fryberger maintained his position Minecraft Battle Royale in the top ten this week out of 352 teams, Aidan Schlegal defeated his opponent in Brawlhalla this week bring his record to 2 and 2, moving him into the top 100 out of 250 students. This is just a reminder that all 11th-graders will participate in a day-long program, (either 2/28 or 3/1) which includes activities designed to encourage you to plan for your own economic success. REAL Life will include budgeting exercises to help students understand how financial decisions today will impact your lives as young adults. The sessions also will include activities to help improve your resume writing and interviewing skills. Students with the last name A-Leaman will attend on 2/28 and students with the last name Lebo-Z will attend on 3/1. Students who attend half day CTC will stay at Penn Manor on their designated day so they can attend the event. We are excited to provide this opportunity for you! Attention Juniors and Seniors that have a parking permit. It’s that time of year for you to pay the second semester parking permit fee. The parking fee for the second semester is $20. You can pay the parking permit fee in the main office in the form of cash or a check made out to Penn Manor High School. The second semester parking permit fee must be paid no later than Friday, February 10. We currently have a waiting list of over 30 students who requested a parking permit. Students who do not pay the second semester parking fee will have their parking permit removed. Please see Mr. Eby if you have a unique situation that would prevent you from paying the second semester parking permit fee. In case you didn’t know the Eagles are in the Super Bowl this year, and most of us are super excited😉 In an effort to show our team spirit and support our community, we will be holding our second “Penn Manor Souper Bowl.” We encourage all students and staff to bring in can(s) of soup that will be donated to the Loft. We will have two tables in the cafeteria-one for the Eagles (best team ever) and one for the Chiefs. We will collect cans of soup all this week and then we will announce the winning team (the team that has the most cans on their table). We also encourage all students and staff to wear their favorite team shirt or jersey on Friday. There will be additional donation boxes in the faculty planning rooms on 200/300 levels as well as in the mailroom. Let’s have a little fun while supporting our Loft by bringing in as many cans as we can!…Go Eagles!!

Earlier this week, the Penn Manor Mock Trial Plaintiff Team traveled to the Lancaster County Courthouse and won our trial against Lancaster Catholic. Lead counsel Suren Clark, and fellow attorneys Grant Rost, and Akriti Neupane, along with witnesses Hannah Knutsen, Trisha Khadka, and Sydney Gieg were all instrumental in winning a unanimous verdict from the jury. Next week, the Penn Manor Defense team, featuring lead counsel Lauren Nissley, will go to trial against McCaskey with a slot in the County championship on the line. Congrats and good luck to our Penn Manor Legal Eagles.

Penn Manor Swim Team’s yearly fundraiser, “Swim For Penn Manor”, will be held on Thursday, January 26. Swimmers are collecting donations that will be given to the Penn Manor Family Fund as well as the Penn Manor Swim Team. Swimmers will swim as many laps as possible at this event. Congratulations to the Penn Manor Chess Team on the their tough match against Ephrata on Thursday night. Cohen and Seth Ganser won at boards one and two to lead the Comets. Good luck next week against Hempfield.

On Wednesday, January 11, the wrestling team competed at Solanco in the first annual Miller Mallet Dual. The Miller Mallet is an award given to the winning team of the yearly dual meet between Penn manor and Solanco. This award is in memory of Jerry Miller, who was a massive contributor to both programs and passed away this past summer. Going into the final match, the score was 33-32 Solanco. In the final match of the night, Carter Rachor was losing, and needed to win for Penn Manor to secure the match. He ended up getting a pin to win the dual. Other key wins came from Josh Zook, Travis Clawson, Gavin Boland, and Gabrielle Midile. Great job wrestlers!

Flex 1 Aevidum meets today for the last time this semester. Flex 4 Aevidum meets Thursday next week for the last time. Mr. Bechtel hopes to see all Flex 1 Aevidum in room 351 today.

Spring Blended Learning Students: In an effort to provide clear procedures for students who have a blended learning schedule, there will be a mandatory meeting during Flex on Tuesday, January 17 for any student with Open Campus, Edgenuity, Work Study or Career Internship on their Spring schedule. Open Campus and Edgenuity students will meet in the Auditorium with Mrs. Andes and Mrs. Lyons. Work study students will meet on the Cafeteria Social Stairs with Mr. Eby. The Penn Manor Ice Hockey season is well underway with the Comets starting their season with 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. The boys traveled to Central York this past Wednesday where they defeated the Panthers 1-0. The eventual game winning goal came just 23 seconds into the first period from senior, Christian Barbusca. The game was backed by a great defensive performance and a 34 save shutout from junior, CJ Ulmer. It was a dramatic victory for Penn Manor Esports’s Rocket League Varsity team last night. Aman Shanik, James Helm, and Nathan took on Foresthills High School, and defeated them 4-1. The team will travel to Pittsburgh this Friday to play in the PIEA Semi-Finals and Finals on Saturday. Best of luck to the team.

Bowling scored a very big win over league rival Hempfield 5-2. Lacey Slaymaker lead the team to the win by bowling a 738 series. Chris Hull had a 645 series as well in the win for the Comets! Girls Swimming won their 2nd meet of the year with a 112-38 win over Manheim Central. Individual winners for the Comets included: Catherin Repoke (200 yard free) , Grace Bresch (50 free), Emma Landis (100 free), Kenzie Wolpert (500 free, 100 backstroke), Kari Anderson (100 breastroke). The Comets also won the 200 medley, 200 and 400 freestyle relay. The boys team had strong individual performances but fell to Manheim Central 92-52. Winners for the Comets included: Spencer Barry (50 free), Brayden Clow (100 backstroke) and Pol Linares (100 breaststroke). The 400 freestyle relay also won. In basketball, the girl’s team fell to Ephrata 51-15. Brynn Groff led the team with 7 points. The boys team also lost to Ephrata 62-35. Aiden Mattern lead the team with 13 points. Wrestling will host their first match of the year tonight against Conestoga Valley at 7pm.

Empower-her Club will meet in the LGI today

Boys basketball improved to 3-1 on the season with a 75-56 win over Twin Valley. Leading the Comets was Ethan Benne with 24 points followed by Aiden Mattern with 15 and Dhamir Wesley with 14. The team had a strong defensive effort as well. In wrestling, Gavin Boland won his 2nd straight tournament by winning the Penn Manor Holiday Tournament. Travis Clawson made it to the finals and lost a close match to the 15th ranked wrestler in the country. Teaghan Rogers also had a strong tournament finishing in 3rd. The team finished 14th out of 28 teams! In swimming on Thursday, the Comets won both the girls and boys meets over Lancaster Catholic. For the girls the scores were 110-41 and the boys won 79-39. In Bowling also on Thursday, the Comets won 7-0. Lacey Slaymaker showed up and put on a one girl great show. She had 189-231-268 for a 688 series. She is averaging 224 for the 2 matches so far. Josh Stock shot a 577 for the day and is averaging 218 for 2 matches.

Penn Manor Varsity Rocket League defeated the Lil’ Irish 4 to 3 to advance to the Eastern Region semifinals in the High School Esports League. Thursday they face off against Putnam Science Academy from Putnam, Connecticut ranked number 2 on the East Coast. Congratulations to to Nate Mintzer, Aman Shaik, and James Helm and good luck on Thursday!

Boys basketball improves to 2-1 on the season with a 63-26 win over Oxford. Ethan Benne led the team with 18 points and Luis Frias had 15 off the bench. Aiden Mattern and Nate Schmidtke added 8 each. The Comets will be back in action on Friday against Twin Valley. Girls Swimming opened their season against LS. Catherine Repkoe (200 Free), Kenzie Wolpert (200 IM), Kari Anderson (100 Breaststroke) and the 200 Yard Medley relay all one events in yesterday’s meet. Unfortunately, the team fell short in the team score. The boys team also had several strong performances led by individual winners, Brayden Clow (50 & 100 Free), Barry Spencer (100 Butterfly), and Pol Linares (100 breaststroke). In addition, the 200 yard medley relay also won. The boys lost in the team competition in a close meet. In girl’s basketball, Alayzha Twyman (10 points) and Joelle Kroesen (6 points) led the girls team in scoring in a home loss to Oxford. The Comets are a very young team with four freshmen in their starting lineup.

Weight Room Schedule for the remainder of the week: Wednesday wrestling 3-3:30 open gym (all athletes) 3:30-4:30, Thursday and Friday open gym (all athletes) 3-4:30. All new people to the weight room would need to do an orientation which will be on Thursday at 3:00pm.

11th graders- This is a reminder that you MUST have all 9 XELLO lessons complete. If you have not started your XELLO or are not complete please see your Flex teacher or counselor. Do not delay getting these completed. These are a requirement for graduation and they are due your Junior year.

The winter sports season kicked off on Friday with Boys and Girls Basketball and wrestling in action at season opening tournaments. Boys basketball went 1-1 losing a close 53-50 game to Palmyra in the first round. The Comets came back in the consolation game with a 51-41 over York Tech. Ethan Benne led the Comets with 40 points between both games. Girls basketball open their season hosting the Comet Tip-Off Classic by starting four freshmen. While the team played very hard in both games, the Comets dropped both games. Wrestling had a strong start of the season finishing in 9th out of 25 teams at the Solanco Mule Classic. The team was led by Travis Clawson who captured the 121 title. Clawson is currently ranked 8th in the state at 121. Gavin Boland made a successful debut for the Comets finishing in 2nd at 114. Additional place winners included: Teagan Rodgers in 3rd at 189, Riley Evans 5th at 107 and Josh Zook 8th at 160.

Are you familiar with the children’s story of The Princess and the Pea? This year’s spring musical, “Once Upon a Mattress” is a hilarious spin on the classic fairy tale. The king is under a curse and cannot speak, so the Queen has taken over and said that nobody in the kingdom can marry until her son finds a bride – but none have been able to pass the queen’s tests. Open call auditions will be held on Tuesday, November 29th from 3:00 – 6:30. Everyone interested needs to attend this session – prepared to sing one of the audition songs, and also dance. Hey Penn Manor- it is that time of year again. No—Shave November is a month-Iong journey during which participants forgo shaving in order to raise cancer awareness. Education Day College and Career Expo will be held in the Gym on Monday, November 7th, from 11:15-1:15. There are over 100 representatives from two and four year colleges, military, technical schools and local employers from the workforce. This is a great opportunity for you to explore your options after high school.

Any students interested in going on the Vermont Ski trip in January need to pick up paperwork from Mrs. Struble in room 335 ASAP. Seats on the bus will be reserved on a first come first served basis. The Civitas Toiletry drive continues! Please bring in toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and much more to help families in need in our community. Penn Manor Varsity Cross Country District Championship Results: Congratulations to Kaleb Kabakjian, who came across the finish line in 21st place with a season best time of 16:14. He has earned an individual spot to race at the PIAA State Championships in Hershey next Saturday. We know he is ready for this next level of competition. Way to go, Kaleb! Our remaining boys team, four of whom made their first appearance at the District meet, are Tristan Weaver, Carter Vinson, Aidan Gerlach, Jack Hightower, Jack Steele, and Chase Bearden. The invaluable experience and season PR’s from yesterday’s race will propel them forward to a return trip next season. We are so proud of all of you! Senior, Bethany Hetrick, represented the girls team with a strong, gutsy effort in her first trip to the District meet. It took tremendous effort to earn this opportunity. Great job, Bethany!

Congratulations to the girls’ soccer team for its 6-0 victory over Elizabethtown High School in the 2nd round of Districts this past Saturday night at Comet Field. The win advances the team to the District Semifinals on Tuesday vs Manheim Township. It also qualifies the team for the State Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, Nov 8th. The team was led with 3 goals from Carly Keene, and 1 goal each from Paityn Smith, Anouk Landgraff, and Lillie Rineer, who also had 2 assists. The following players each had one assist – Carly Keene, Izzy Kligge, Kelly Wall, and Anouk Landgraff. Allie Burkholder earned the save with the help of defenders Annaliese Mann, Kelly Wall, Samaya Avila, and Chloe Wolf.

Yesterday, Penn Manor JV Rocket League advanced to the quarterfinals in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Esports League by defeating Governor Mifflin High School 3 to 2 in a close match up. Congratulations to the team for their win! Next week they will face off against Susquehanna Township High School.

Congratulations to the girls’ Varsity soccer team for its 3-0 victory over Northeastern York High School last night at Comet Field in the first round of the District 3 Playoffs. Goals were scored by Kennedy Dings, Carly Keene and Carlolyn HInkle. Assists were had by Carly Keene, Carolyn Hinkle and Lauren Stoner. Goalkeeper Allie Burkholder recorded the shutout, with the help of defenders Annaliese Mann, Kelly Wall, Samaya Avila, and Chloe Wolf. The team returns to Comet Field this Saturday night to host Elizabethtown High School in the 2nd Round of the District 3 Playoffs. The game is at 7:00pm.

Catherine Rabatin made Penn Manor Tennis History, LL League & District 3 History over the weekend. Catherine Rabatin scooped up her 4th straight District 3 Title in Singles and is the first ever player in history to win 4 consecutive District 3 Titles. She is also the first to win both the LL League and District 3 Titles 4 times in a high school career. Catherine advances on to the State Tournament in November where she hopes to win the Gold. This week we also have Erin Shipley and Haley Hutchinson making their debut in the District 3 Doubles Tournament on Friday and Saturday. If you’d like to come out and support the Penn Manor Tennis Team make sure to check the Penn Manor Tennis instagram for the draw and schedule for the weekend when it’s released. Yesterday the Comets Tennis Team had an amazing day at the LL League Finals. Catherine Rabatin won her 4th consecutive LL League Flight 1 Singles Title. She was also named Player of the Year for the 3rd time and was also named LL League AllStar and Section All Star for the 4th time in her highschool career. Erin Shipley & Catherine Rabatin had a tough battle for the LL League Doubles Title and ended up coming in 2nd. Both players are advancing to the District Tournament. Singles will be played this upcoming weekend and doubles will be the following weekend in Hershey.

Avery Bradburn had the goal with an assist from Caity McGuff. In overtime the Comets pulled through with a goal from Annie Bibus assisted by Tristan Groff. Way to go ladies! The JV was triumphant over the Warriors 4-1. The team travels to Hempfield tomorrow at 4pm.

Congratulations to the field hockey team who won the Cumberland Valley tournament this weekend. The team traveled to CV in sloppy conditions to take on West Perry. They beat the 9 and 2 team with a 3-1 victory. The Comets continued their winning ways with a 2-0 shutout over hosts, Cumberland Valley. Annie Bibus was named Tournament MVP and Tristan Groff was named to the All-tournament team. These wins further advanced the Comets first place District ranking. ACE – Architecture, Construction, Engineering – is an afterschool program open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students enrolled in the ACE Mentor Program are broken into teams to complete a design program. Carly Keene led the team with 3 goals, and one goal each by Izzy Kligge, Carolyn Hinkle, Lilly Rineer and Kylie Collins. Congratulations to the field hockey team who continued their winning ways this week with a win Monday over CV 2-1 in overtime. The girls scored just 46 seconds into OT. The Comets also beat Manheim Township last night 1-0. JV won 2-0. The girls traveled to Cumberland Valley this weekend for a tournament. Keep the wins coming. Let’s go Comets!

Girls tennis finished their regular season with an 8-6 record following a 7-0 win over West York. Single winners included: Catherine Rabatin, Haley Hutchinson, Autumn Kirkley and Olivia Swanson. Doubles winners included: Catherine Rabatin & Erin Shipley, Haley Hutchinson & Olivia Swanson and Autumn Kirkley & Daphne Eisenhauer. The team will now get ready for the league championships. Girls Field Hockey improved to 10-1 on the season with an exciting 1-0 win over Manheim Township. The winning goal was scored by Grace Gerner off an assist by Tristan Groff. Adeline Arkhurst had the shut out in goal. The win gives the Comets sole first place in the section 1 standings and continue to remain as the top ranked team in the District 3 Power Rankings. A Military Service Academy Night for students interested in attending the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coastguard Academy or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The event will include Academy Liaison Officers from each service academy and a detailed explanation of the Congressional nomination process. The session will be held on October 6th, 2022 from 6-9pm at Robert Morris University.

The Penn Manor Cross Country teams had a solid day yesterday. The Boys kept it close with Warwick and earned their first win of the season over Lebanon! Kaleb Kabakjian had his second straight individual win today while Abby Ames came in a close second in her race. The Girls came out on top against Lebanon with another close one against Warwick. Congratulations to the field hockey team who upped their record to 7-1 with a win last night over Hempfield. The girls made it rain in the rain win a 10-0 win in varsity and a 6-0 win in JV. Goals came from a plethora of girls including Caity McGuff Avery Bradburn, Tristan Groff, Chloe Hook, Annie Bibus, Emily Kemmer, Liz Bustillo with assists from Liz Cox, Izzy Thatcher and other goal scorers. Congrats to the defensive units for the shut-outs! Come see the girls in action tomorrow at Comet field at 2pm when they take Central Dauphin.

Seniors! Just a reminder that you must submit your 2022 homecoming king and queen nomination form by 3:00PM today. Check your email and google classroom for the form. The court will be announced on Monday afternoon.

What a great start to the school year! Show our comet pride and celebrate the first month of school by wearing our favorite Penn Manor gear or blue and gold on Friday, 9/23. It’s a great day to be a comet and lets show our spirit on Friday!!

Attention Comet fans, the field hockey team is bringing the action home tonight against Hempfield at 7pm. Come support the team and stay to support the girls for our senior recognition. Congratulations Jenna, Liv, Annie, and Caity! Once again that’s tonight at Comet field at 7pm.

Aevidum will not meet this week as a club. Fourth block Flex or Thursday Aevidum will meet next week. If you signed up for Flex 4 Aevidum, look for an email from Ms. Vita next week with details on the first meeting. Flex 1 Aevidum will have its first meeting, Monday, Oct. 3rd. Flex 1 Aevidum members will get an email from Mr. Bechtel.

The lady Comets field hockey won a hard fought battle in Lititz last night. Caity McGough, Chloe Hook, and Avery Bradburn scored the 3 goals in regulation against the Warwick Warriors with assists from Chloe, Avery, and Izzy Thatcher. The game went into overtime where the Comets earned a penalty stroke. Caity McGough sealed the win. Congratulations to the team for the win and first place rank in the district. The JV team also dominated the warriors with a 4-1 win.
