2014 YEARBOOKS ON SALE NOW

Oder forms for the 2014 Trumpeter Yearbook were sent to student addresses in early November. Extra copies of the form can be picked up from the high school office.  Orders can be placed with Jostens (the publisher) via phone by calling 1-866-282-1516 or online at www.jostensyearbooks.com.  The current price of the Yearbook is $66.00. This price is good through Feb 2, 2014. The price will go up after that date to $75 and then again to $85 at the start of May. Order your Yearbook at the best price by ordering NOW.

2013 YEARBOOK SPRING SUPPLEMENTS

Each 2013 yearbook came with a spring supplement. 2013 seniors were to pick up their spring supplement at the high school during the summer. Supplements can still be picked up by parents and siblings during the school day at the receptionist’s desk.  Underclassmen should have received their supplement from their Homeroom teacher in September. If they haven’t please see Mr. Anderson.

First Marking Period Report Cards

The first marking period of the 2013-14 school year ended on October 30, 2013.  Teachers have submitted students’ marking period grades and comments.  Report cards for the first marking period are posted to the Student Backpack in the Community Web Portal.  Please access your account to view your student’s report card.

Parents are encouraged to create a separate account from their student’s account. To create an account, please go to: https://sapphire.pennmanor.net/CommunityWebPortal/ and click on the Community Portal Application link under the Getting Started section of the site. Step One of the account creation process is the entry of a keyword. The keyword is: comets.  Next, parents will be required to accept the site policy and then complete the online account application. Finally, Parents must fill out the form electronically, print and mail the original signed form to the following address for verification:

Education Day – November 4th

Parents are invited to attend Penn Manor Education Day on November 4th, 2013.  Over 75 admission representatives will be here from two and four year colleges, technical and business schools in the East Gym.  This is a great opportunity to speak to admission counselors and ask questions about various programs.  The event time will be 10:50-1:15.  If you are unable to attend this event, you are invited to attend Conestoga Valley’s College Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on November 4th, where over 200 college representatives will be in attendance.

Important Reminders

Financial Aid Night is this Tuesday October 22nd at 7pm in the Auditorium.

The first session of the Parent Tech Training to prepare for the 1:1 laptop program is this Thursday October 24th at 7pm in the library. Other sessions will be offered on Nov. 20 and Dec. 11.

 

Help Us Participate in “Celebrate My Drive”

Every day starting Monday, Oct. 21, students will watch a different message on safe driving attitudes during Block 2. After the announcements, students will be encouraged to use their personal technology devices to make a commitment to drive safely at www.celebratemydrive.com. School staff members, families and community members also are urged to make their own safe driving commitments.

This is a community event so you and anyone you know can participate.  It simple and easy!

Dual Enrollment at Thaddeus Stevens

Juniors– are you interested in completing a year of college at the same time as you complete your senior year of high school?  You can do that through the Dual Enrollment program at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.  This year we have five seniors attending college all day all year!  If you would like to learn more about this opportunity please stop in to see your counselor or Mrs. Ostrowski in the counseling office so you can sign up for an information session on November 7th at 10:30.
